Cleaning and Sterilization
IMPORTANT: Corundum bits must be thoroughly air-dried before dry-heat sterilization. Due to the porous structure of corundum, residual moisture may remain inside the abrasive head. When heated, this moisture turns into steam and may cause cracking, chipping, or structural damage to the bit. Do not place a wet or insufficiently dried corundum bit into a dry-heat sterilizer.
After each use, the bit must be properly cleaned, disinfected and sterilized:
1. Clean the bit using an ultrasonic cleaner or a brush.
2. Soak it in a disinfectant solution according to the instructions on the disinfectant packaging.
3. Rinse under running water; distilled water is preferable.
4. Dry on a clean towel.
5. Sterilize using a dry-heat sterilizer, autoclave or glass bead sterilizer, as with any professional manicure instrument.
